Stories are alive. When people come together in a time and place to tell a story, it has never happened in this way before. It’s my job as the director to get as clear as possible on the story as it reveals itself to us, and create an environment where actors are free to play in that space knowing that as long as all parties stay safe, we will “yes, and” whatever arises, and the story will be richer and more true for it.
